Synthesis, Unidirectional growth and characterization of L-Threonine acetate single crystal for non linear optical applications
Bulk crystal of L- Threonine acetate (LTHRA) was successfully grown for the first time by Sankaranarayanan and Ramasamy (SR) method. The unidirectionally grown crystal was characterized by single crystal X-ray diffraction (XRD) studies to confirm the crystal structure. The grown crystal was characterized by UV-Vis-NIR study and energy band gap. The second harmonic generation (SHG) in the sample was confirmed by Kurtz and Perry powder technique. The laser damage threshold was
also found. Vickers microhardness study was carried out to analyse the mechanical strength of the grown crystal. The dielectric constant, dielectric loss and work hardening coefficient of the grown crystal was also studied.
