Growth and characterization of nonlinear optical diammonium phosphate (DAP) single crystal

An inorganic single crystal of Di ammonium phosphate (DAP) was successfully grown in water solvent by slow evaporation technique at ambient temperature. The grown crystals were tested by FTIR, UV-Visible spectroscopy, Vickers hardness test and EDS. The vibrational frequencies of various functional groups in the
crystals have been derived from Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy. The lattice parameters of the DAP crystal has been evaluated by powder X-ray diffraction. The cutoff wavelength and band gap energy of the grown crystal were observed using UVvisible spectrophotometer. The mechanical properties of DAP crystals was studied by Vickers micro hardness tester and load dependence hardness was observed. The presence of elements in the grown crystal has been measured by using energy dispersive X-ray spectrometer
