Crystal growth and characterization of zinc tris thiourea chloride (ZTC) single crystal
Zinc tris thiourea chloride single crystal was grown by low temperature solution growth method from slow evaporation technique at ambient temperature. The grown ZTC crystal was carried out various characterization techniques like FTIR, UV-visible studies, second harmonic generation studies and Vickers microhardness. The presence of functional groups and modes vibration of the crystal was analysed by Fourier transform Infrared spectrometer. The transmittance of the grown single crystal has about 96.75 percentages. The estimated energy band gap of the ZTC single crystal is about 4.38 eV. This results shows that the grown crystal is well suited to apply the optoelectronic devices. The work hardening coefficient of the ZTC Single crystal was calculated from the graph log P vs. log d which is about 5.0. Second harmonic efficiency of the grown material is greater than that of KDP.
